Image information
Description
Very prominent edge on barred spiral galaxy about 25 million light-years distant. One of the closest neighbouring galaxies to our own Milky Way galaxy. It also contains hundreds of billions of stars. Clearly visible in even small aperture telescopes. 20 x 42 seconds combined exposures. Celestron GPS11 with Hyperstar f1.8 lens, Meade DSIc. Linden Observatory 14 October 2007.
